NL | De naam STIR FRY is ontleent uit de keuken en omvat het spontane, vurige en passievolle karakter van dit jazz kwartet. Zo’n STIR FRY (NL: roerbakmaaltijd) kan zomaar worden gecreëerd in enkele minuten, ingrediënten variërend op voorraad en stemming maar altijd onder een blazend vuur. Deze methode van koken en musiceren ligt nauw aan het hart van Max Kuitems (2003); die de wok en de piano met dezelfde eerbied benadert.

Op deze avond heeft deze jonge opkomende pianist eer om te ‘koken’ met de lyrische Italiaanse trompettist Giuseppe Alfano wie onder andere heeft getoerd met Jimmy Sax. Zij zijn ondersteund door het legendarische Delfts ritmesectie duo Lars Hoogland (bas) en Luuk Withagen (drums). Met liefde voor jazztraditie en een missie om spannende muziek te delen ben je van harte uitgenodigd voor de STIR FRY! Een jamsessie zal het concert volgen, waar je mag meekoken.

EN | The name STIR FRY originates from the kitchen and captures the spontaneous, fiery and passionate nature of this jazz quartet. A STIR FRY can be cooked up swiftly within a few minutes, ingredients varying based on inventory and mood, on the beat of a blazing fire.  This method is close to Max Kuitems’ (2003) heart; who approaches the wok and the piano with equal reverence.

On this night, the young and upcoming pianist has the honor to cook with the lyrical Italian trumpeter Giuseppe Alfano who has toured with the likes of Jimmy Sax. They are supported by the legendary Delfts rhythm section duo Lars Hoogland (bass) and Luuk Withagen (drums). With love for jazz tradition and a mission to share exciting music you are cordially invited for the STIR FRY! A jam session will follow the concert, where you can cook along.
