NL | Cas Jiskoot (1998, Den Haag) is contrabassist, op zijn zevende is hij begonnen met gitaar spelen en zo’n 5 jaar later is hij daarnaast elektrische bas en contrabas gaan spelen. Hij heeft les gehad van o.a. Ron Carter en Marius Beets en hij heeft samengespeeld met o.a. Scott Hamilton, Dick Oatts, Philip Harper, Ack van Rooyen, John Engels en vele anderen.

Hij heeft les gehad van o.a. Ron Carter en Marius Beets en hij heeft samengespeeld met o.a. Scott Hamilton, Dick Oatts, Philip Harper, Ack van Rooyen, John Engels en vele anderen.
Verder speelt hij in verschillende vaste formaties waaronder het Gijs Idema Trio, het Idema/Serierse Quartet en The Dutch Jazz Collective. Met het Gijs Idema Trio heeft hij meerdere prijzen gewonnen. In 2014 het Prinses Christina Jazz Concours, in 2016 de Leidse Jazz Award samen met de persprijs en in 2017 de Expression Of Art Award van het Conservatorium Hotel van Amsterdam.
EN | Cas Jiskoot (1998, The Hague) started playing guitar at the age of 7, at age 12 he started to play electric bass and a year later also acoustic bass. He had lessons with a.o. Ron Carter and Marius Beets and he played with the likes of Scott Hamilton, Dick Oatts, Philip Harper, Ack van Rooyen, John Engels and many others.
With the Gijs Idema Trio he won the Princess Christina Jazz Concours in 2014, the Leidse Jazz Award in 2016 together with the press prize, the Expression of Art Award from the Conservatorium Hotel in Amsterdam in 2017 and the Conservatorium Talent Award in 2020. With the Idema/Serierse Quartet he was nominated for an Edison award in 2021 for their Album Motus.

EN | SLY M is a new band in the Dutch jazz landscape.
This new group contains musicians who can go in all directions musically, but swinging hard is the starting point. Neo-bop, free, Latin and everything else that comes with current jazz music goes into the blender.Sly M consists of three young dogs and a veteran. The musical character of the band is simply the result of the greatest common denominator of the musical personalities that play in it. The music is organic and comes more from the hips than from the head.
Sly M calls it improvised music from the street.

In deze nieuwe groep zitten musici die muzikaal alle kanten kunnen maar keihard swingen is wel het uitgangspunt. Neo-bop, free, latin en alles wat er verder nog voorbij komt aan actuele jazzmuziek gaat de blender in.Sly M bestaat uit drie jonge honden en een oudgediende. Het muzikale karakter van de band is simpelweg het resultaat van de grootste gemene deler van de muzikale persoonlijkheden die er in spelen. De muziek is organisch en komt meer uit de heupen dan uit het hoofd.
Sly M noemt het zelf geïmproviseerde muziek van de straat.
De muziek is sensationeel, adembenemend, ontroerend en opzwepend tegelijkertijd. Invloeden uit "The Old Days" en jazzmuziek van de nieuwe tijd gaan moeiteloos hand in hand. -

EN | This band originates from the jazz focus bigband. In addition, we met each other at the bebop jam session! This band was formed through a shared passion for traditional jazz. Sources of inspiration include Gerry Mulligan, Clark Terry and Louis Armstrong. With our own arrangements, we give a new twist to traditional and modern jazz compositions.
NL | Deze band komt voort uit de jazz focus bigband. Daarnaast hebben we elkaar leren kennen op onder andere de bebop jamsessie! Door een gedeelde passie voor traditionele jazz heeft deze band zich gevormd. Inspiratiebronnen zijn onder anderen Gerry Mulligan, Clark Terry en Louis Armstrong. Met eigen arrangementen geven wij een nieuwe draai aan nieuwe en oudere jazz composities.

NL | Maak kennis met La Reunión Quartet, een Latijns-Amerikaans muziekcollectief geworteld in Rotterdam, opgericht en geleid door de getalenteerde altvioliste Daniela Rivera. Dit ensemble bestaat uit vier muzikanten afkomstig uit verschillende hoeken van de wereld, die elk hun eigen muzikale smaak toevoegen aan het geheel. Verenigd door hun liefde voor Afro-Cubaanse ritmes, vonden ze hun muzikale thuis in de bruisende muziekscene van Rotterdam.
Wat La Reunión onderscheidt, is hun innovatieve benadering van salsa. Ze combineren traditionele muziek uit de gouden eeuw van de Latijns-Amerikaanse muziek met elementen van klassieke muziek en Latin jazz. Het ensemble valt op door zijn unieke instrumentatie, waarbij de altviool en zang de leidende instrumenten zijn – een niet-traditionele aanpak die een frisse kijk op Latijns-Amerikaanse muziek biedt.

United by their love for Afro-Cuban rhythms, they found their musical home in the lively music scene of Rotterdam.
What sets La Reunión apart is their innovative approach to salsa. They blend traditional music from the golden age of Latin music with elements of classical music and Latin jazz. The ensemble is distinguished by its unique instrumentation, featuring the viola and voice as the leading instruments—a non-traditional approach that brings a fresh perspective to Latin music.

EN | Yiska is a young jazz singer from the Netherlands. While she started out singing in church, she became increasingly connected with jazz music over the years. This led her to the Royal Conservatory of the Hague, where she experimented with a lot of different sides of vocal jazz, such as odd meters, improvisation and vocalese. All these sides and more are still very much represented in her repertoire, so come and check it out!
NL | Yiska is een jonge Nederlandse jazzzangeres. Hoewel ze is begonnen met zingen in de kerk, raakte ze over de jaren heen steeds meer verbonden met de jazzmuziek. Dit bracht haar naar het Koninklijk Conservatorium van den Haag, waar ze veel heeft geëxperimenteerd met verschillende kanten van de vocale jazz, zoals onregelmatige maatsoorten, improvisatie en vocalese. Al deze kanten en meer zijn nog steeds terug te horen in haar repertoire, dus kom vooral even luisteren!

EN | Eric Ineke started his career in the sixties. Drummers like Philly Joe Jones and Elvin Jones were his inspiration. In 1969 he made his first record and during his career he recorded numerous CD’s and toured with many great American jazz musicians like Dexter Gordon, Johnny Griffin, George Coleman, Al Cohn, Jimmy Raney, Barry Harris, Eric Alexander, Grant Stewart and David Liebman. He appeared on numerous jazzfestivals like North Sea Jazz , Nice, Pescara, San Remo, Athens, Toronto, Montreal and New York. Since 2006 he is leading The Eric Ineke JazzXpress, a swinging band in the hardbop tradition. In 2012 he published his first book The Ultimate Sideman, which he wrote together with David Liebman, for Pincio Publishers. Even at 75 he teaches at the jazz department of the Royal Conservatoire in The Hague.
NL | Eric Ineke begon zijn carrière in de jaren zestig en speelde sindsdien op talloze platen en met minstens net zoveel grootheden. Eric speelde oa met Dexter Gordon, Johnny Griffin, George Coleman, Al Cohn, Jimmy Raney, Barry Harris, Eric Alexander, Grant Stewart and David Liebman. Hij speelde op jazzfestivals zoals North Sea Jazz , Nice, Pescara, San Remo, Athens, Toronto, Montreal en New York. Sinds 2006 leidt hij zijn eigen band: The Eric Ineke Jazz Express en in 2012 kwam zijn boek The Ultimate Sideman uit. Op 75 jarige leeftijd geeft Eric nog altijd les op het Koninklijk Conservatorium in Den Haag.

EN | Matthijs de Ridder is a drummer and producer on the cutting edge of jazz and electronic music. After his studies at the conservatories of Rotterdam and The Hague, he followed masterclasses with various drummers in New Orleans and New York. Matthijs continues to challenge himself in the world of jazz and electronic music by creating new sounds and pushing musical boundaries.
NL | Matthijs de Ridder is drummer en producer op het snijvlak van jazz en elektronische muziek. Na zijn studies aan de conservatoria van Rotterdam en Den Haag heeft masterclasses gevolgd hij bij diverse drummers in New Orleans en New York. Matthijs blijft zichzelf uitdagen in de wereld van jazz en elektronische muziek middels het creëren van nieuwe geluiden en het pushen van muzikale grenzen.

Historie
Jazzcafé Bebop is gevestigd in een rijksmonument gebouwd in 1876. Tot 1980 werd het pand gebruikt als pakhuis waar men koffie en thee verhandelde. Firma Schilte & Co hadden het pand in bezit met de winkel op de Brabantse Turfmarkt in Delft. De takel waarmee men de zakken koffie en thee naar boven op de zolders hees, is nog steeds aan de voorkant van het pand te zien.
Na opheffing van de firma Schilte werd het verbouwd tot Jazzcafé Bebop. Een café waar men rustig een biertje van de tap of fles kan drinken (meer dan 90 soorten) en vaak genieten van live muziek (zie hiervoor de agenda onder “live programma”) Ook staat de Bebop bekend om zijn grote assortiment Whiskey’s.
Een gezellig oud café met een prachtige binnentuin waar men met velen 's avonds en overdag kan vertoeven.
