EN | A common love for the Ron Miles trio is what brought GroundPlay together in the first place. We met each other at Codarts Rotterdam in 2022 and formed this group about 3 weeks later. We immediately felt the great potential so we started writing tunes. All the tunes have 1 thing in common and that is the focus on freedom. Being written in such a way that the musician’s have lots of paths to proceed through a composition but always decide in the moment. This makes it a lot of fun and unique every time. The sound is best described as the Ron Miles Trio crossed with Paul Motions music creating really interesting textures of sound.
