With the help of this recently formed trio, Hendrik allows the soul of the double bass to emerge in his beautiful compositions through his refined and melodic playing.

 

NL | Het Hendrik Müller Trio is ontstaan in het begin van 2020 en markeert het startpunt van een nieuw muzikaal pad voor de in Amsterdam gebaseerde jazz contrabassist en componist Hendrik Müller.

Met hulp van deze recent ontstane trio laat Hendrik in zijn schitterende composities door zijn verfijnd en melodieus speel de ziel van de contrabas ten voorschijn komen.

De muziek is energiek en toch beschouwend, vol onverwachte wendingen en geeft veel ruimte voor improvisatie. De focus ligt hierbij op het samenspel van de gehele band terwijl er voor Hendrik voldoende ruimte is om zijn instrument, de contrabas, solistisch in de schijnwerpers te zetten.

Samen met de pianist Christian Pabst, beschreven door Jazz Weekly, USA als „A unique voice at the ivories“ en Nick Thessalonikefs op drums heeft Hendrik de perfecte combinatie van muzikanten en vrienden gevonden om zijn muzikale ideeën te verwezenlijken.

The music is energetic yet contemplative, full of unexpected twists and turns and leaves a lot of room for improvisation. The focus is on the interplay of the entire band, while there is enough room for Hendrik to put his instrument, the double bass, in the spotlight as a soloist.
