CONCERT | Joan Codina with the Oscar Ployart Trio

  wo 4 jun. - 21:00

Performing under his own name, Joan will be playing the pearls of 50 and 60 hard-bop.

Joan Codina is a prominent figure on the Amsterdam and Barcelona jazz scenes. As the principal trombonist of the swing orchestra The Roaring Cats, Joan is an established name in the European swing community.

Performing under his own name, Joan will be playing the pearls of 50 and 60 hard-bop. He has an exquisite taste for the complex melodies and dark chords of the nevertheless bright and hard swinging compositions, that are so characteristic for the late bop era.

On Wednesday Joan will be accompanied by the working band the Oscar Ployart Trio, featuring Danish pianist Oscar Ployart on piano, Ties Laarakker on bass and drummer Egidio Gentile.
